A comedy of animals led by Chagall, a squirrel who is a painter and a part-time detective, and his pal Sabout Tour, the snake. The Village is suddenly sidetracked from pursuing their charitable deeds in order to search for a lost bear cub, BeBop. The cub vanishes from under the watchful eye of his parents during a picnic celebrating the distribution of care packages for the needy animals. Foul play is suspected as Chagall organizes the Village on a quest to uncover the truth about what has happened to little BeBop.

QT and his custom-made Violin, Tiny 16, embark on a musical adventure that is full of pitfalls and rewards on their quest for excellence and fame. Together they dream of playing with a full orchestra. Will they get in trouble with the Maestro? Will the other instruments accept them? Will anyone in the famous symphony orchestra give them a chance?

Jan Shure-Hurwitz earned a Master of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Literary Arts credential from Loyola Marymount University. After teaching at both elementary and college levels for a couple of years, Jan went on to teach high school Language and Literary Arts for 23 years.

Jan also enjoyed a career as a freelance journalist with articles published in Los Angeles Magazine, L.A. Times and others. She was also an editor of a local newsletter and an assistant editor for a national newsletter.

Although Shure-Hurwitz has been a writer for years, CAPTURED! is her first children’s book.

She has two daughters and two grandsons and currently lives in Los Angeles. California.
